MEET THE ARTISTS
RON SPIVAK is delighted to be back at SBMF. He has played leading roles in Man of La Mancha, Company, Damn Yankees, Guys & Dolls, and numerous other plays and musicals. He has also written and performed — as narrator and singer — the symphonic concerts Bravo to Broadway, Richard Rodgers Re-vued and The Noisy Intermission (the last with composer Michael Valenti) with major orchestras across the country, and has co-starred with singer Rocky Blumhagen in their two-man revue It’s Better With a Baritone. He has sung with cabaret legend Steve Ross at Lincoln Center, and has co-starred in several shows at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
Also a musical theatre historian, he served as musicals editor/archivist for Samuel French play publishers, has written for the Tony Awards program and Show Music magazine, and has composed liner notes for Broadway cast albums. Ron is currently writing the book and lyrics for a new musical, Rashomon, with renowned Japanese composer Michiru Oshima.
