Daniel Freiberg

Piano

Argentine-American, award-winning composer, arranger, pianist, music producer, and recording engineer Daniel Freiberg has spent most of his life at the intersection of the distinct worlds of Classical, Jazz, Rock, and Latin American music.

Freiberg has been awarded three Grammys among other honors and has earned international acclaim as a composer, arranger, pianist, and music producer. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, the young Freiberg studied classical piano and composition, while immersing himself in tango, Argentine, Uruguayan, and Peruvian folklore, as well as Brazilian and Rock music. A Dave Brubeck album, received as a birthday gift, ignited his lifelong passion for jazz. At the age of 21, Freiberg moved to New York, where he currently resides. He immersed himself in the vibrant New York Latin Jazz scene, meeting his mentor and lifetime friend, the fourteen-time Grammy-winning clarinetist Paquito D’Rivera, with whom Freiberg toured as the pianist of D’Rivera’s Jazz Quintet, recording multiple albums, and continues to collaborate with D’Rivera up to this day.
